Crafting & Infusion Guide
Reading levels: milestones
The game shows levels as a milestone and a level, like 3 36. Every milestone is 50 levels, so 3 36 is 3 × 50 + 36 = 186. Crafting professions top out at 10 00 (500). Crafted weapons go up to 50 00 (2,500).
That's why averaging three item levels is fiddly: 3 49, 4 00 and 4 10 are 199, 200 and 210, which average to 203 — shown as 4 03.
Who crafts what
Each faction's weapons and shields come from one Mine of Mantuban profession:
- Cryoknight
- Blacksmith (ores → ingots)
- Guardian
- Bonewright (bones, brewed)
- Hammermage
- Stonemason (stones, etched)
Most recipes also need timber from the Carpenter or the Timber Merchant.
The 10 crafting tiers
Recipes come in ten tiers: Basic, Moderate, Average, Fine, Robust, Sturdy, Strong, Excellent, Superior and Perfect. Tier n unlocks at profession milestone n (plus a small offset per item) and makes weapons between n × 250 and n × 250 + 249. Shields start at Moderate.
A crafted weapon's level defaults to your profession level × 5 (capped by the tier). You can lower it, but the materials cost the same and higher-level weapons sell for more, so most people craft at max.
Each craft rolls Common, Uncommon or Rare. Rare odds start at 1 in 7 at Basic and fall to 1 in 52 at Perfect. A talisman doubles your uncommon and rare chances, but only for its own material and category (for example "Iron melee weapons" or "Duraben shields"). Talismans are made by another profession: Stonemason makes Blacksmith talismans, Fisher provides Stonemason's, and Botanist provides Bonewright's.
Since 9 Feb 2026, Shark Jaw and Hickory are no longer sold in shops, so plan to gather or trade for them.
Infusion: three rares into an epic
- Unlocked by the quest The Lost and Found; done at the Infusionist's shop in the Mine of Mantuban.
- You need three Rare items: a base from your faction, and one aux from each of the other two factions.
- Weapons go with weapons (melee and ranged mix freely), armor with armor (any slot), shields only with shields.
- The epic keeps the base item's stats except rarity and level. Its max level is the average of the three, rounded down, and you can pick any level up to that.
- Each rarity star is worth 15 item levels of stats, so Rare → Epic is a 15-level boost. The epic still comes out ahead unless you set it 15 or more levels below the base.
- Since 8 Dec 2025 you choose the epic's level, up to that average — handy for making an epic you can wield at your current combat level.
The tidy way to plan: decide the epic level you want, then you need the two aux items to total 3 × target − base. The infusion calculator does this for you.
